Terms of sale
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who we are
This website is run by StoryCanvas ([legal business name], [registered address], [company number if applicable]). You can contact us at books@story-canva.com. In these terms “we” and “us” means StoryCanvas, and “you” means the person buying.
2. What we sell
We sell digital picture books in PDF format. Nothing physical is posted to you. Each book's page shows its price (currently £2.99), age range, page count and a description. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies.
3. Buying a book
- When you click “Buy”, you're taken to a secure checkout run by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Your order is accepted, and a contract formed, when your payment is confirmed. We then show your download link on screen and email it to the address you gave at checkout.
- Please make sure your email address is correct. If you mistype it, contact us and we'll help.
4. Downloads
Your download link lasts for 30 days and can be used up to 10 times. Please save the PDF to your device. If your link expires or stops working, email us and we'll send a new one.
5. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content, that right ends once the download is made available to you, as long as you agreed to this before buying. At checkout you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once the download link is sent. This doesn't affect your rights if a file is faulty. See our refund policy.
6. Personal use licence
When you buy a book you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. You may:
- download, keep and read the PDF on your own devices;
- print copies for use within your own household;
- read it aloud to your own children and family.
You may not:
- share, upload, email or sell the PDF (or printed copies) to anyone else;
- use the stories, characters or pictures in other products, or for commercial purposes;
- remove copyright notices or claim the work as your own.
Teachers, nurseries, libraries and therapists: please get in touch about classroom or group use.
All stories, characters (including Nova, Milo, Pippa, Jax, Zuri and Blink) and illustrations are © StoryCanvas. All rights reserved.
7. If something goes wrong
Your digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose (Consumer Rights Act 2015). If a file is faulty or won't open, tell us and we'll fix it, send a replacement, or refund you.
We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for problems caused by your own device or software. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown when you placed your order applies to that order.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you have a complaint, please contact us first. We'll do our best to put things right.
